The never-ending project

Here are a few pics of our basement....the never-ending project. The inital project began literally 2 years ago, but we've just kicked it into gear a bit in hopes of maybe *actually* finishing it this year. The finished project will include a bedroom, bathroom, office, playroom , family room and bar/kitchen. You're looking at part of the "family room" in the above picture. You're standing in the family room looking towards the bar/kitchen in the lower picture. The electrical will be run next weekend and then we'll have to do the insulation before drywall. Fun, fun!
Just about everything down there is either filthy dirty or dangerous...so as you can imagine, Mitchell LOVES to go down there. He can literally play down there for hours! Look at his dirty bum in this picture. He typically wears jeans with this outfit, but we had taken them off for diaper change when Jacob summoned us to the basement for a consultation/"see what I've accomplished" session.

I found the map to the treasure!

Who needs Lincoln logs when I can build with REAL boards?!

We'd done so many big projects around the house, but never with the help of an assistant like Mitchell! (The dog was always hard enough to keep out of stuff!) I hope our new house doesn't need too much work, or we'll have to buy the baby a tool belt so he can help!
