Maverick is 3 months old!

I once saw the first three months of an infant's life referred to as "The 4th Trimester". The book went on to explain that if a woman's body could accomodate it, a baby would spend another 3 months in the womb. The immaturity of the infant during these months explain why it is often a very tough time for the parents!

Luckily, this has not been the case with Little Maverick! He has been such a joy these last 3 months! He is a happy boy, full of smiles :)

I decided at the monthly posts to go back through my pictures from the month and post any good ones that I hadn't already posted. I guess I took a few of Maverick this month!

Look how much he's starting to fill out the little chair :)

Feel free to compare to Mitchell's 3 month chair pic. What a chub!

This month started out kind of rough with our hospital stay for brochiolitis. But the little man recovered quickly and hasn't been sick since....knock on wood.

He LOVES his baths! It's one of my favorite times too because his little tub positions him to look right up and me and I get the best smiles from him :) I usually try to bathe him while Mitchell is napping so that Maverick and I can take our time!

Maverick had lots of Grandpa time this month. First with Grandpa Michel (my dad).

...and next with Grandpa Folks (Jacob's Dad) who came for a short visit from Maine! We'll see lots more of them this summer!

He spent lots of time lazily napping outside in his carseat while Mitchell tried out many of the local parks. He seems to like the fresh air!
His blue eyes continue to stay really dark blue...irresistible to photograph :)

Gotta love funny baby expressions!

He sure is a smiley man...but you can't see his dimple that I am obsessed with in his left cheek (just like my Dad!)

I LOVE gummy baby smiles!
Maverick is very entertained by his big brother. Often smiling at him, even if Mitchell doesn't always return the smile :)

Some of you might think this below picture is gross....but it captures our little spit-up man to the "t". He could compete with any tobacco chewing cowboy!
He has definitely found his hands this month. They spend LOTS of time in his mouth...and I think we discovered why yesterday when we noticed TWO TEETH on his bottom gums! Holy cow, we weren't expecting those yet!

We are having a ball watching him grow and change...and can't wait to see his little personality continue to emerge the next few months!

Mitchell or Maverick?

They BOTH look like their Daddy to me!

Mitchell is 28 months!

Mitchell is 28 months old! Although he may not look much older month to month anymore, he certainly is growing more and more mature. He understands so much more, talks so much better and when he chooses to he behaves better too :)

Shorts season should also be called "bandaids on the knees" season. Mitchell is quite the climber. He makes a jungle gym out of just about anything, including our poor living room furniture!

He literally RUNS from me when he sees the camera coming. Ahhh...I knew the day would come :( As I posted earlier, we've enjoyed playing outside A LOT this past month....even in our rain gear!
"Mom, these boots are hard to walk in!"

Mitchell has a new OBSESSION with games (I'm blaming this one on his Aunt Katy). He isn't old enough to understand any of them, but he REALLY enjoys dragging them all out and spreading them all over the house.
This is how our kitchen floor looked this morning. Now picture me trying to clean up the tiny puzzle pieces with a tired, crying Maverick in one hand, yelling at Mitchell to try to make him help me. I literally had to stand up, take a deep breath and force myself to find the humor in the moment. I do that a lot these days! :)

Mitchell's toybox is over flowing with things to entertain him. He is sitting inside the toy box below; he 'caught' himself in his bug catcher.

Bathtime is still one of our favorite times! He refuses to get out until his fingers and toes are wrinkly. :) We really enjoy our bath letters that Gran got us for Christmas and are slowly learning our alphabet and numbers by sight.

He loves anything on wheels, as long as he can operate it independently. I often underestimate his coordination.

We LOVE playing outside with our sidewalk chalk. (Thanks Kari Knoblauch if you're reading this!) We can entertain ourselves for hours in the driveway, and are COVERED in chalk when we're finished, but oh well!
Below he is saying "STOOOOPPPP taking pictures, Mom."

Yogini

Jacob has started doing P90x, which is a 90 day workout/nutrition plan. Tonight's workout routine was Yoga and he had a little yogini exercise with him :)

Jacob is a little over 1 week into the program now and he's already noticing some more muscle definition and has lost 5 pounds!

No, I'm not too lazy to do it with him...I just enjoy my daily group exercise classes the gym instead. I will have to update his progress as he reaches his 30 day, 6o day and finally 90 day milestones.

Spring has Sprung...

...And we're spending lots of time outdoors enjoying it :)

Look here goosey, goosey!

This is such a perfect picture of our days right now. Trying to find ways to accomodate our sleepy, relaxed baby and entertain our rambunctious toddler at the same time! :)

Baseball Fan

Our baseball fan got a new jersey and hat! They may be a little big on him, but he loves to sport them anyway! :)

Comfy enough to konk out on the couch in...

We're hoping to make it to a few more Royal's game soon!

Sleeping Beauties

It's certainly tough to go back to my regular cutsie posts after my last heart-wrenching post about Morgan... Thank you to those of you that added Anna and CJ to your prayers! I was able to spend a little time with them last night and they seem to be getting along as well as expected given the circumstances.

Here are a few funny pics of my sleeping beauties.

2 sleeping boys makes for a nice car ride for Mommy. :)

Ahhhhh.....

Maverick's Thriller pose

Yes, I've caught him doing it twice now :)
