Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!!

We decided to go with a Star Wars theme for our costumes this year :) Mitchell is Luke Skywalker, Maverick is Yoda, I'm Princess Leia and Jacob is Darth Vadar. We had a fun trial run wearing them to a Halloween party this weekend and look forward to wearing them again tonight for our neighborhood Trick or Treat!

More Fall Photos

I am obsessed with Fall photos of the boys :)

All is well in our household, just BUSY!

Here's a little update of each of us:

Mitchell - He is currently obsessed with tanks and dancing around patting his own tummy. He is officially swimming all on his own! He mostly loves school although he often tells me that he doesn't need to go back because 'he knows EVERYTHING!" He loves playing games on Wii and the IPAD, and is better at operating them than I am.

Maverick - He is fully transistiond to a big boy bed...Mitchell's bed. The boys have been sleeping together for a few weeks now while we work on Maverick's big boy room. He wakes in the morning, walks over to the stairs and slides down. I often don't even know he's awake until I hear "thump, thump, thump"..and sure enough, it's Maverick sliding down. He is talking more and more and starting to put two words together "I'm thirsty", "I'm hungry", "Want cookie", etc. He loves cars, dogs and his thumb!

Jacob - He has been spending lots of solo time with the boys lately during my photography appts, including Saturday morning football which Maverick has enjoyed just as much as Mitchell. Jacob has his last week of work travel this week, and is staying home for the month of November for the new baby. He also has a birthday coming up very soon :)

Mandi - While we're anxious for Baby #3, we're content waiting for a few more weeks. September and October have proven to be "busy season" for all 3 of my jobs....PwC recruiting, photography and my KU class...but the end is in sight. This is my last week at PwC. I have had a lot of fun with photography sessions this fall, and I'm slowly making progress editing them! I just posted my final KU class grades today, whew!

Baby #3 Update

According to the latest sonogram, Baby Folks #3 is in the 83rd percentile for size.  My doctor recommends an induction in my 39th week of pregnancy (November 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th), a few days before my official due date of November 12th.

Jacob is bummed because this means no 11-11-11 baby for us!

I haven't booked the official date yet, but I am hopeful that Baby will decide to come on his/her own prior to the induction date.  Coming from experience, things seem to go smoother when my body decides it's ready to deliver vs. being forced into it!  I also think it's fun to see what birthday the baby will pick for itself.  The element of surprise is kind of fun too :)

Either way you look at it, Baby #3 will officially be here in less than 3 weeks....I guess I ought to get some things ready for the little one!

Fall Photoshoot with Mitchell

Mitchell and I had a little fall photoshoot while Maverick was at school last week.  When I look at these pictures, it reminds me of how OLD Mitchell is now!  I still think of him as my baby most days, but he is certainly not a baby anymore!

We have a little photographer in training!  When I take my big black camera along, Mitchell likes to bring his little red camera too.  I'm sure his photos are as good as mine :)

Bowl o' Skittles

A few days ago, Maverick found a big bag of Skittles in the cabinet after lunch. I made him the happiest little boy when I asked "Would you like me to put a few in a bowl for you?" He ate them right up :)

The next day, I was making breakfast and Maverick was playing in the cabinets and found a really big tupperware bowl. He held it up to me and I asked "Did you find a big bowl?" Immediately, I saw the wheels start turning in his brain. He ran over to the bag of Skittles and held it up to me. He wanted a giant bowl of Skittles!

Here's Maverick with his giant bowl of Skittles. I only put a few in there, but he was happy!

No, we usually do not have Skittles for breakfast, but I couldn't help but give in this time. :)

Super Boys!

Just a little picture of our Super Boys! Oh, how they love their Superman jammies (and I do too!)

I had a sonogram this week to check the size of the baby to make sure it's not toooooo big. It is perfectly sized at 6 1/2 pounds. Assuming it gains 1/2 pound per week for the remaining 4 weeks, it'll be between 8 1/2 to 9 pounds. Maverick was 9lbs, 2oz, so all should be fine! The sonographer referred to the baby as a "he" a few different times. Maybe she was just throwing around the term or maybe we're adding a new little super boy to the mix in a few weeks! We'll see!

34 weeks pregnant on my 34th birthday

Baby #3 will be here before we know it!  I celebrated my 34th birthday last weekend, while I was 34 weeks pregnant.  Yes, it was a crazy celebration that included cake and presents with Jacob, the boys and my mom.  On my actual birthday, my mom and I took the boys to the Zoo.  It was a great time!

Our soon to be family of 5 finally took the plunge and bought our first mini-van, a Toyota Sienna.  We love it :)

Here's a little video of the cake celebration. The boys got me a singing card

The boys got me a singing card.  I think Maverick enjoyed it a little more than I did :)

Pumpkin Patch FUN!

Each year I request to take the boys to the Pumpkin Patch for on my birthday weekend. I LoVe the pumpkin patch....and so do they! There are so many fun things to do, like...

Riding big bikes (some with Daddy's help!)

Jumping on a big orange trampoline

Playing in the corn kernels

Getting our face painted - this one was really hard to convince Mitchell to wash off! In fact, he's sitting next to me right now and when he looked over and saw this picture he said "My Spiderman face! I'm so sad that you took it off."

Riding the barrel train

And Mitchell's all time favorite - laser lag!

The Folks men hand in hand :)

Grandma was visiting us from Wisconsin and came along! In fact, she was here for nearly a week. We didn't want to see her leave! Although Mitchell was very excited about her visit, he said "I just wish she could be here always."

I love this pumpkin picture of Mav :)

Both of the boys were sound asleep on the way home! The pumpkin patch activities wore us all out!
