Valentine's Day

The boys had a lot of fun celebrating Valentine's Day together!  We received several packages in the mail (THANKS!) and Jacob and I had gathered some items to spoil them with ourselves :)

Macallan had a wonderful 1st Valentine's Day!

I attempted to get a picture of the three of them together, without a whole lot of luck :)  Mitchell hadn't changed into his red yet and the ONLY red I had for Macallan was a Husker's tee!

The big boys sure do love their baby brother!
We continue to tell the boys to kiss Macallan on the head to avoid try to spare our littlest one from too many germs.

When you have multiple children, you can't help but worry about how much time you'll have for each individual child.  You forget about the attention that they will pay to each other!  As you can see below, the boys do a pretty good job at entertaining Macallan!

Macallan is filling out MORE and MORE!  He is becoming a happy, chubby baby!

We even had all heart shaped meals on Valentine's Day.  Pancakes for breakfast, a heart shaped sandwich for lunch and the above pizza for dinner.
Mitchell and his Daddy are pretty big buds lately!  I came down from putting the little boys to bed to find them cuddled up sleeping on the couch together and couldn't resist snapping a picture. :)

Maverick's Birthday!

We really enjoy celebrating each of our boys' actual birthdays in addition to their little parties.  While the parties are fun, it's tough to actual relish quality time with them in the midst of all of the party craziness.  I enjoy our little family celebrations on their actual birthdays themselves a little more!

On Maverick's 2nd birthday, he crawled into our bed around 6:30am, ready to start the day!

Mommy & Maverick made a special trip to the donut store, where he picked himself out a heart shaped sprinkled donut. Yummmm!

Don't worry, he got one for his big brother too!

Next up - a trip to the local children's museum for some fun :)

Macallan was all too content to ride around in the sling.

At the museum, our birthday boy did some fishing....

They performed a play for us.

He played with some trains and cars (typical 2 year old boy!)

And spent a little time in "time out" for misbehavior.

He even rode a pretend Kansas tractor.

We then reported to the pediatrician for his 2 year check up.  He is growing like a weed!

Height - 34 1/4 inches = 50th percentile
Weight - 30 pounds = 75th percentile

Mitchell drew an adorable little picture of our family on the chalkboard in the waiting room.

I couldn't quite figure out what he was drawing here...and then he explained that he was drawing Macallan being carried in Mommy's arms.

The Folks Family...by Mitchell Folks

Mitchell was very concerned about Maverick once he learned that he'd be getting shots at his appointment, but Maverick took them like a champ!  He barely cried and showed no symptoms afterwards.

Macallan was very glad there were no shots for him!

Our afternoon fun lead us to the TRex restaurant at the Legends.

Maverick really enjoyed checking out the fish...
 And the dinosaurs.
 Even digging for fossils!

We concluded the special day by inviting Grampy over for a dinner of Maverick's favorite things -Hot Dogs, Corn on the Cob and Baked Beans.  He ate TWO full ears of corn on the cob!

But also saved some room for cake and ice cream.  He loved his homemade Fish cake.

But probably enjoyed his presents more!

All in all, we had a WONDERFUL day with our birthday boy!  He is certainly a handful at this age, but we wouldn't change him for the world.  You can't help but be completely entertained by the little ball of fire!  We love him DEARLY!

Macallan is THREE Months Old!

How can he really be 3 months old already? Our family is so enriched by this little guy! He is the happiest baby..certainly the easiest of our three. He is totally adored by his big brothers, and his parents :)

I am completely in love with this picture below. It has become the wallpaper on my cell phone and I smile everytime I look at it.

I had a photo assistant (Maverick) help me with the monthly chair picture below. My assistant is standing to my right - can you tell?

Here he is, helping Macallan smile.

And after he was done helping, he just had to have a picture of his own. I love the look on his face here. :)

Daddy kisses are the best (next to Mommy kisses)

Our recent developmental achievement - Macallan found his hands. He likes to use his hands to reach out for toys...he also really likes the taste of them!

The three month mark also marks the end of my maternity leave from PwC, so I returned this week. I continue to work part-time (usually two or three days a week). Our nanny now watches three boys while I work.We are completely in love with our littlest man. He is the perfect addition to our family! We are fully confident that he was heaven sent!

Maverick's 2nd Birthday Party

We invited our neighbor friends to join us for a "field trip" birthday party to celebrate Maverick's 2nd birthday.  We rented a 15 passenger van and drove up to Shatto Dairy Farm in Osborn, Missouri.

We had cow designed donuts on the way....

....after we realized what it did to the kids' faces!  It wiped right off...no worries!

The kids all held up "2" fingers in response to "How old is Maverick?"  Hmmm...it looks like all of the kids participated except for Mitchell!  Typical :)

Grace with her cow mask.

We picked the first kiddo up at 8:45 and arrived at the Shatto Farm at 10:10am.  Not a bad ride :)

They have lots of fun types of milk, so we lined up to sample them like a wine tasting!

I think Sadie liked what she tasted :)

All of this fun was wearing Maverick out!

You have got to love the little chaps that my mom made for him.  Too cute!

Macallan rode around in the sling and didn't make a peep the whole time.  He is such a good boy...but I have to remind myself that he'll be 2 someday too!  We certainly have our hands full with our 2 year-old right now.  Maverick is a BUNDLE of energy!

Next stop on the tour was visiting the baby calves and milking a momma cow!

Then we saw how they can milk them a little quicker with machine pumps.  We even got to "milk" our thumbs to see what it feels like.

Which way to the cows, Maverick?

Macallan was a happy camper on the way up and back, despite the fact that he's typically not too fond of his carseat.
We packed lunches for the way back, followed by cow cupcakes!

We all had a great time celebrating Mav's birthday.  Fun times had by all!
