Kitchen remodel

Am I allowed to blog about things unrelated to Mitchell? :)

We're well into our kitchen remodel. Here are some pics.

Before

After
New granite counter tops, backsplash, gas cooktop and sink
We also lowered the breakfast bar to make the island all one level.

Next up? Stain the cabinets darker and paint the walls a creamy caramel color. Specific color suggestions are welcomed :)

I would blog about Mitchell but I haven't seen him awake in a few days now :( I have not been out of town, but I've left for work before he wakes up (around 6:30am these days) and haven't been home before bedtime (8pmish). It's been a crazy, busy week and Jacob, my dad and Sherri have been sharing Mitchell duties. Unfortunately, I have to be on the road by 6:30am again tomorrow morning, so I'll miss him again in the morning...but WILL be home before bedtime! AND - I'll get all weekend to catch up with him!!! I CAN'T wait!

Friday night will be here before you know it! Hang in there!

Your lowered kitchen island reminds me of how mine was - although we didn't put enough overhang on it for stools, since our couch was so close. But, it's great to have a flat surface for groceries, baking, putting out food at a party, etc.

All but two rooms in my house were from one strip of colors from Sherwin. My favorite wasn't a caramel color; it was chocolate milk! (Sherwin-Williams Sand Dune). If you have more yellow undertones than the oranges/pinks in my house, it won't work, but it's a pretty color! Stay away from "green" browns though! (Jason worked at Sherwin in high school and college, so I've picked up a little of this. I never realized khaki or brown came in "yellows," "reds," and "greens." I put a "green" on my bedroom wall before I realized. . .) Good luck!

Oh, sorry for long reply, but just remembered a yellow toned one that I had in my formal dining room - Buckram Binding. Check it out!
