Mitchell and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Night

Well we did it....and Wednesday was just as AWFUL as I thought it would be! He is SOOOOOO stubborn! I am not exagerating when I say that he spent more of the night crying than sleeping :( All of us were sleep deprived, so Thursday was an extremely rough day. Mitchell had a super fussy day at daycare, and I was very reluctant to try it again Thursday night.
I had a work event on Thursday night and by the time I got home, Mitchell was already sleeping (in his own crib!). I braced myself for the crying to begin and much to my surprise he did not make a peep until 6am!!! I woke up about every two hours, alarmedly looked at the clock and thought "OMG - he's still sleeping!" I even checked on him a few times to make sure he was still breathing :)
Thanks for all of your supportive blog posts -- they helped more than you know!
He was still pretty fussy today though. I'm hoping that he'll have another good night tonight and will be fully rested and happy tomorrow!
Is it possible that I'll have the best of both worlds? A full night's sleep AND a happy baby?
Remember this guy?

I hope it went well and that you're all still asleep right now! Saturdays are for sleeping in - remember?! I'm just up to walk the dog and get breakfast before my nap! :-)

Yay! Way to go! It is possible for best of both worlds...I am sure you are well on your way right now. Sometimes the "process" makes it feel impossible, but it will happen! You will be rested and happy and you will have a baby who is rested and happy. Good job :)

I'm so happy to hear the news! Yes, you can have it all!!! Hang in there...there may still be a few rough days, but remember that it is harder for you than Mitchell...you just don't cry as loud or for as long as he does!

Wait to go! I hope that your nights have been better! Again, just remember that it will all be worth it when you are all sleeping the entire night! Trust me, your happy baby will be back before you know it! :) Keep up the great work!

I am anxiously checking back on Sunday morning for a report . . .I hope this means you guys were all having a happy day yesterday and no time for pictures or blogging! :-)

I told Jason the margarita idea idea (which got a knowing smile) and the general idea of what you guys were having to do(which got a look of "wow, how would we ever survive that?!"). He's right! We've got some serious toughening up to do before we have kids! :-)

Hey Mandi... I got the chills when I read this post! I know way too well what you are going through... Finally Braxton and Beau are doing great at night but it was not easy. Dave drove me nuts at 2 am... more then the boys. Telling me what to do ... "let them cry". FORGET IT right! Well in the end it did work but I get the credit... not him! Good job and enjoy your sleep!
