9 Month Pediatrician Appt
Now that we've returned from Seattle, we had our 9 month pediatrician appointment. As predicted, Mitchell's weight is BACK ON THE CHARTS....although barely! Here are the stats:
Weight 24 pounds, 8 oz -- 95% percentile
Height 30 inches -- 90% percentile
He is getting ALL four of his upper primary teeth right now, so it's been interesting to say the least!
Our biggest question for the pediatrician is regarding Mitchell's sleep time habits.....we (mainly "I") have succombed to the "ease" of allowing Mitchell to sleep in our bed. He still gets up 2-3 times each night to nurse and has become a fussy mess when placed in his own bed. As soon as I bring him to our bed, he's asleep within minutes. Jacob is not too fond of this arrangement, so we made the agreement that we'd ask Dr. Martin her thoughts on the CIO method (crying it out) to get Mitchell to fall asleep in his own crib and stay there for the entire night! I asked her about it one other time a while back and she seemed to suggest that I shouldn't do it if I wasn't comfortable with it......sooooooo Jacob and I decided to ask her again. Our agreement was that if she supported CIO then we'd try it, if not, we wouldn't. I thought for sure she wouldn't support it based on our earlier conversation, but much to my surprise she encouraged us to try it! :( Tonight is the first night....most people say that it may take as few as 3 nights - let's hope they are right! I'm not sure how much I can handle! Jacob's tolerance is much greater than mine :( I'll keep you posted.

Good luck! We let Madison cry it out...and it took only 3 days. When the whole family is sleeping soundly at night, you'll be glad you did it. I think it is actually easier for the kid than it is for the parents.
Mandi - you will be fine! I promise that it will be so much better once Mitchell sleeps through the night! You will be so thankful that you listened to him cry! :) Also, Dr. Martin definitely knows what she is doing (she is our pediatrician as well)!
I'm reading this on Thursday night, so I'm hoping Wed. night went well. Good luck, I know it is hard. Just remember - it's much harder on you then him, he won't remember. Can you remember anything from when you were 9 months old? Okay, and my only other piece of advice . . . have several margaritas before you go to bed, so 1) there is too much alcohol in you system so you can't given in and nurse even if you want to and 2) you'll sleep so deep you won't hear him cry! :)
Love the margarita suggestion!!! :-)
