We are having so much fun seeing which foods Mitchell likes/dislikes! We can only introduce one new food every four days, in order to be able to isolate any foods that he might have an allergic reaction to - luckily none so far! :) The books say to start them on veggies rather than fruits. The theory is that once they taste the sweet fruit, babies will no longer want to eat dull veggies. I did start squash first (as you may have seen on an earlier video), and then sweet potatoes...but then it was either peas or bananas....and I just couldn't resist. I just HAD to see his reaction to fruit. He did NOT like them! I should've video taped him spitting them back at me :)
Last week while we were in Maine I finally gave in and decided to give him the peas that I brought along. I hate peas...so I just knew that Mitchell would hate them too. I mean, what kind of kid likes peas and not bananas! Apparently, MY kid! :)

See the above video that we took last week of Mitchell's first taste of peas.
Now before you get too concerned about my child never enjoying a banana split (you know how much is mom loves dairy queen!), the books also say that it takes 18-30 tries for babies to get accustomed to new tastes. Sounds like a load of BS, I know, but I think it's worked with the rice cereal. He actually enjoys eating it now! Hopefully he'll "acquire" the taste for fruit.

Of course he likes peas! Oh that was so cute!!!
Also, whose ideas was it to write FOLKS with sparklers. That was great!
The books are right in this case! Madison was great with most veggies, but it took a month of fruit before she started to like it.
Mallory hated mashed bananas! But she LOVES them now as finger food. I really think it's her favorite. Keep trying. It really gets easier.
Jacob loved peas. When he began eating finger food, he liked frozen peas right from the bag.
When he got full, he would pick up a pea from the high chair tray, reach over and drop it on the floor and watch the dog eat it.
