Maverick is six months old now! He is super smiley and cuddly...two of my favorite traits :)
Feel free to compare to Mitchell's six month post. Although they resemble each other, I think Maverick has his own unique look. We go to the pediatrician for his six month check-up in a few weeks, so I'll compare stats afterwards, but I think it safe to assume that his brother still had a few pounds on him!
You can probably tell he's not looking at the camera in this picture, but instead he's focused to something on my right. It is Maverick's 2nd favorite thing to look at and smile. Yep, Tex. He is a dog lover! And you probably guessed what his first favorite thing to watch is.....Mitchell. It makes us so happy to see how much he loves his big brother! With Mitchell being away at Grandma's, Maverick has had more dog watching time, but we noticed him perk up and get really excited when he noticed the big picture of Mitchell on our living room wall :)
Maverick is an active little thing these days! His hands will grab anything in sight; preferably to help bring it to his mouth so that he can try out his two new teeth on it. He has begun to enjoy spending a little time in his exersaucer. Mitchell helps him push buttons and play music as he plays :)
He has some strong legs! Here's a picture of his signature "stand on your hip" move. He digs those little toes into your hip and pushes himself up to a standing position.
We love meeting up with my good friend, Taby and her son, Dylan. They came over the visit earlier this month. Dylan loves cuddling Maverick.
Maverick got a little Grandma time when she was down for his baptism. She'll be back again this coming weekend to bring Mitchell home!
The jumpy little guy gave Great Grandpa Apollo's arms a work out for a while :) He is up visiting my Mom and stepdad along with Mitchell. I'm sure Mitchell is wearing him out!
Notice Maverick's thumb...he is more of a thumb chewer than a thumb sucker, but the jury is still out!
He is still eating his rice cereal pretty well. We're excited to begin feeding him real foods now that he's hit the 6 month mark. I'm sure we'll post some pictures of that soon!
"What? Real food?"
We've spent lots of time with my Dad this month. We do anyway, but especially since both of my sisters made trips into town.
Maverick loves his daddy. He has started to reach his hands out to someone else to hold him; most oftenly he does this to Jacob. Mitchell has been going through a mommy's boy stage lately, so Daddy is glad to have Maverick's affection :)
Here's a little video of Maverick devouring his rice cereal on the back deck. :)
