IT'S A BOY!
We are truly blessed to welcome our 3rd son into the world!
Macallan Jacob Folks
Born November 10, 2011
12:49pm
7 lbs, 13 oz
20.5 inches.
Our
OB was worried that he may be too big, so we scheduled for an induction
at 39 weeks and 5 days. Here is the last picture of my bulging belly
when we arrived to the hospital the night of November 9th.
8pm - November 9th
We
had a fairly uneventful night and officially started the induction
process the next morning. Here I am as the process begins (still happy,
apparently!)
8am - November 10th
The
process went very easily and quickly, making for a quick recovery for
me (thanks, buddy!) Below is our first picture with our new son. We
really enjoyed not knowing the gender until his birth...it made for a
very exciting delivery.
1pm - November 10th
A HUGE THANK YOU to my Mom and my sister, Kelli for making the trip into town to help watch the "big boys" and of course welcome the new baby! They brought Mitchell and Maverick up to met their new brother. The boys seemed very excited...we'll see if that changes when they realize Macallan is permanent!
3pm - November 10th
Proud Grandma
His proud Aunt Kelli
is expecting her first baby in March and she isn't finding out the
gender either. Macallan is very excited to meet his cousin :)
He has been a very good baby so far. He's nursing very well and allowed us all to get some sleep last night.
Why
Macallan? Yes, it's an uncommon name...but we love uncommon names! With
the birth of each boy, Jacob has purchased them a nice bottle of scotch
to save and enjoy with them on their 21st birthdays. The day Mitchell
was born, Jacob reported back to the hospital with a bottle of Macallan
12 Scotch. I said "Oooh, I love that name" and it's been on our list
ever since. Plus, as in the other boys names, it starts with an "M" and
is 8 letters...an unintended coincidence with the first two, but why not
carry it on! We actually had a good "J" name picked out for a baby girl,
but I guess that one will stay in the reserves. :)
We
are enjoying some rest, relaxation and time alone with our new son in
the hospital, but will be headed home on Saturday. We miss our "big
boys" and will be excited to officially start life in zone defense :)
