The most wonderful, terrible play

I am very blessed to spend A LOT of time with my kiddos.  They all get lots of attention and know they are very loved...but individual attention is tougher to come by.

The nearby elementary school that Mitchell will hopefully attend (fingers crossed, we find out next month) had a little play performance on Saturday afternoon.  I planned to take Mitchell and Maverick, but Maverick ended up napping through it (on Jacob's chest on the couch).

So it was a date....me and my biggest little man.

We arrived just as it was starting and had terrible seats.  We sat near the back row of the gym in folding chairs and could barely see the stage.  In an effort to see better, Mitchell sat on my lap.  Yes, my 57 pound, 5 year old son sat on my lap :)  With two younger brothers in constant competition over securing my coveted lap position, Mitchell NEVER sits on my lap anymore.

So our seats were awful, and the play was even worse.  We couldn't hear, and we couldn't see.  And honestly, even if we could hear and see well, I'm not sure we would've been any more entertained.  It was a grade school play after all.  I'm pretty sure we were the only spectators unrelated to a cast member.

Was I disappointed?

Absolutely not.  My biggest little man and I sat together and cuddled.  We talked (quietly) and muffled our giggles for an HOUR.  We were uninterupted by his more needy, I mean, younger siblings.  It was just Mitchell and his mommy.

On our way home, Mitchell asked me "Mom, when can we go to our next terrible play?"

Hands down, it was the most wonderful, terrible play I've ever seen :)
